Director/Writer
Actor, screenwriter and musician Christopher Forsyth was born in the rural Midwest, where he graduated from Hope College with dual majors in the medical sciences and economics. He started performing as a theatre actor and musician at a young age, in school and community productions, and post-college, continued his studies at the Paramount Theatre School of Performing Arts (Austin TX), and in Los Angeles at the Howard Fine Theatre, the Edgemar Center for the Performing Arts, the Groundlings Theatre, and the Second City School of Improv. In addition to roles in theatre and independent film, he has appeared in guest-starring and recurring roles on all four major TV Networks. A classically trained musician from a young age, he also writes and composes music for independent film and commercials. Several years ago, having read hundreds of scripts as an actor, Christopher set his sights on writing, and formally studied screenwriting in UCLA's writers program.

Waking Gerd is a raw, quirky, character-driven dramedy based on true events. It features a strong but tortured woman who we meet the morning after another failed suicide attempt. Suffering from depression and severe aquaphobia after losing her family in a drowning accident, she feels she has no reason to live, until she gets a phone call that literally and figuratively wakes her up.
Because Waking Gerd is a "proof of concept" for the feature version, it's vital that the short represent what we're capable of in terms of quality, aesthetic, and vision. It's an ambitious project, and your contributions will go towards the production costs - including but not limited to:
